I went to get Jack off the fort at playcentre today and Jack told he was going to jump so I caught him as he leapt off the steps into my arms. As I cuddled him to me he said "what would I do without you" |

On finding one of those 'fairies' with a seed on it I told Jack to pull the seed out and make a widh. He surprised me by not only understanding the concept but immediately declaring a wish. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to make it come true. Here's what he said "I wish for a friendly dinosaur. I want it to come and play with me. In my room" |

Today we took Jack kayaking. After initial upset when the wave splashed over us he was totally fascinated and very quiet. We paddled close to a rock with three cormarants stadning on it and when we asked where the birds were Jack pointed to them. He also waved to grandpa who was on the shore |

We took Jack to Russell today. Even though we went on the ferry Jack went properly prepared dressed in his life jacket. It seems that life jackets are all part of the fun even when uneccessary. |

Jack received a book called Peter and the Pirate for Xmas. The story is about a pirate who goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot but instead is sold a pig and a variety of other substitutes for his pirate ensemble. Instead of a cutlass the owner sells him a pooper scooper. When reading this to Jack in bed he has been know to whip a similar item out from who knows where and declare gleefully "I've got a pooper scooper". This item from his beach set has taken on a whole new level of glamour. I think the idea that a pirate with a pooper scooper is ridiculous is lost on him. |
